Nyhavn 
Nyhavn is the perfect place to end a long day. With a cold one on the quay like the locals, or at one of the many restaurants. Originally, Nyhavn was a busy commercial port where ships from all over the world would dock. The area was packed with sailors, ladies of pleasure, pubs and alehouses. Today the beautiful old houses have been renovated and restaurants dominate the old port. Nyhavn is filled with people enjoying the relaxed atmosphere by the canal, jazz music and great food.
The famous Danish fairytale writer, Hans Christian Andersen, used to live in no. 20. This is where he wrote the fairy-tales 'The Tinderbox', 'Little Claus and Big Claus', and 'The Princess and the Pea'. He also lived twenty years in no. 67 and two years in no. 18.
During Christmas, Nyhavn sets the perfectly Christmas-lit setting for your holiday in Copenhagen. Denmark National Museum
Denmark's National Museum in Copenhagen has exhibitions from the Stone Age, the Viking Age, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and Modern Danish History.
The National Museum is located in The Prince’s Palace, built in 1743-44. It is no longer used by the royal family, but the Great Hall still appears elegant enough to fit princes and princesses.
The Gallery consists of a wide corridor that linked rooms and sleeping quarters, and featured plenty of space for exquisite handicrafts. The stucco in the ceiling, the panels and the oak parquet floor are all thought to be original. The furniture and stove are from the early 18th century.
The National Museum boasts a very large ethnographical collection, a collection of classical and near eastern antiquities, a coin- and medal collection, and a toy museum. You can also visit the Victorian apartment Klunkehjemmet, practically unchanged since 1890. After years of reconstruction, the exhibition on Danish Antiquity has re-opened, including prominent national treasures such as the more than 3,000 years old Sun Chariot, the Bronze Age Egtved Girl, and an amazing collection of archaeological finds from the Viking Age, many of which have never been shown at the exhibition before. Fregatten Jylland
With 102 metres from bowsprit to stern, 44 cannons and 57 metres to the top of the masthead, Fregatten Jylland (the Frigate Jutland) is an experience with both room and entertainment for the whole family.
The exhibition hall provides the opportunity for immersion in the ship’s very interesting history, and aboard the ship, you can experience it full speed ahead when the museum’s guides show and explain how the drama unfolded aboard the big warship, which later became both the royal yacht and summer holiday digs for school children from the province. Today, the ship is well-restored and ready to receive its guests in Ebeltoft, just as fine and well-kept as on the Mayday in 1864 when the ship and crew met their enemies at Helgoland.
For the museum’s guests, there are lots of opportunities to do things, even trying and experiencing life on the seas more than 100 years ago:
- Help load a 30-pound muzzle-loading cannon and remember to hold your ears during the cannon show.
- Go on a sailing tour with the Frigate’s old auxiliary boat “Barkassen” on Ebeltoft Bay.

Emigration Museum
Utvandrarnas Hus, only a few steps away from the provincial museum of Småland in the city of Växjö, is a special kind of a museum. It is dedicated exclusively to the great Swedish emigration movements between 1846 and 1930.
It is hard to believe, but 150 years ago Sweden was one of the poorest regions in Europe. Before the first industrial revolution, which had begun a lot later in Sweden, it was an agricultural country without enough agricultural areas, no longer able to feed the rapidly growing population in the middle of the 19th century.
The museum was founded in 1965 by the Swedish Emigration Institute with the purpose of keeping the archive with its extensive collection about the emigration era in a central place and making it easier for the public to access. Grene Sande
Grene Sande and Gyttegård Plantation are unique natural areas and cultural history!
Gyttegård Plantation is a so-called "Copenhagen plantation", which has only existed for well over 100 years. In the past, it was an area of hard-working heathen peasants who struggled with sand escape.
Today, you can see traces of both the "Copenhagen plantation" and the sand escape, as the area consists of woodland, dry heathland with cranberries and heather, as well as many larger and less humid meadows and marsh areas. The Maritime Museum
Flensburg is a historic seaport and trading post. The Flensburg maritime museum explains the maritime history of the city with all of its stories about the port and merchant courtyards, the ships and shipowners, and the machinists and captains as well as their typical day on board. These are stories from far-off lands as well as from the coast of the homeland. Stories from the Danish West Indies about sugar, rum and slavery. Aalborg Zoo

Vestre Fjordpark
Vestre Fjordpark is located in the western part of Aalborg but close to the city centre. Here you can both swim, sail in canoo or kayak, windsurf, winter bathe, or just enjoy the sun and the beautiful nature by the fjord.
The Fjordpark has for 70 years been a wonderful gathering spot for all ages in Aalborg, especially on good summer days, it has been one of the most attractive places to enjoy the heat, and in 2019 it is nothing less than a summer paradise. Stranden (the beach) is a large bathing area with sand bottom, a 50 m basin and diving board basin, diving board tower, and climbing wall. You can enjoy the sun on the areas on the roofs or the grass areas (with several sections in cover).
The areal between the Fjord and the bathing area is called Tangen, and from here kayaks are launched. Defence and Garrison Museum

The Living Museum Karensminde
A visit to the Museumsgården Karensminde is like entering another age. The farm is a visitation farm where the work is done, as was done during the farm's heyday in the 1700s and 1800s.
The whole family can give a hand when, for example, the grain is harvested, potatoes are picked up or milked. Meanwhile, cooking on the old wood-burning stove is busy.
At Karensminde there is ample opportunity to get close to the animals. For example, you can give a hand when cutting the sheep and picking up the eggs from the chickens. You can go for a walk in the barn and look at the pig, which often has piglets. On the green meadows, you find Mad's goat and the geese. The rabbits and guinea pigs enjoy themselves in their cages, and the cats lick the sun on the steps.
You can also explore the many rooms of the farmhouse, where a story from the old days hides in every corner. The volunteers like to talk about their work and provide anecdotes about the history of the farm. They can tell you both about how to do the work in the old days, and about all the different people who have lived on the farm. Piren Joenkoeping
Piren – The pier is the place to be in Jönköping during the summer. The pier starts in the middle of Jönköping and extends into Vättern, the second largest lake in Sweden.
The Pier consists of restaurants and there is also a 200 meters long sofa where you can enjoy the sun and ice cream. Regardless if you want to eat some delicious fish dishes, have a drink or rent a kayak you should visit the Pier.

Szczecin National Museum
The main buildings of the National Museum in Szczecin (Muzeum Narodowe w Szczecinie) is located at the Chrobry Embankment, in the former Maritime Museum. Here you will find thousands of historic artifacts from the region, information about the seafaring history of the city, as well as a new permanent exhibition on the Golden Age of the Pomeranian Region. Also worthwhile is a view from the viewing tower on top of the museum, although the climb to the platform via a narrow staircase is said to be challenging.

Koszalin Museum
The regional museum (Muzeum w Koszalinie) gives an overview of the history of Koszalin and its surrounding areas with the exhibition of archaeological findings, coin collections and historic pictures and artefacts. Stadtpark City Park
With around 1.5 million square metres, Stadtpark (lit. city park) in Winterhude is the third largest park in Hamburg. For the centennial anniversary in 2014, around 1.6 million euros were invested in flower beds, paths, playgrounds and the renovation of the Planetarium.
Especially in summer, life is easy around the luscious green meadows. Hundreds of locals and visitors alike come to Winterhude, where the park serves them as a popular meeting point and recreational site. However, the park is not only the right place for meeting people and sunbathing. In summer, music enthusiasts will also get their money’s worth. Thousands head to the open-air stage to experience performances in a unique setting. Harbor Worlds
The Seaside City is opening up a new chapter in its history. The “Havenwelten Bremerhaven” (Harbor Worlds Bremerhaven) are being built in the city at the River Weser dyke.
